Countdown

The time has come... we are in our last days of prep. 5 more days! The Saturn Vue is in the shop being onced over ... checking belts, hoses and fluids. Another massive snow storm has come and gone. In fact, we are still shoveling out.

However, in 8 days we will be in temps that range from 70º to 80º. It's unlike our quick get-aways to southern Florida where we return to our winter. This time we will come back to green, lush Minnesota....3 months from now. It is almost surreal.

We are downloading apps for our phones so we can acquire quick information when we do have internet service. Still researching the sights we would like to see along the way. I would love to hear from anyone following us if they have sights that we shouldn't miss. I love the app Roadtrippers.com. Right now, nothing is written in stone of where we will be with the exception of our first destination in New Mexico – we needed a reservation for this small state park– City of Rocks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFuS7I4F2DQ We will be there for 5 days. This will be our opportunity to study our RV manual and get to know it inside and out. We are purchasing an annual NM state park pass. If we remain in New Mexico 2 months, the cost of camping will be $3.75. Can't beat that for accommodations that include a bed off the ground, our own bath and kitchen! We will remain in southern New Mexico most, if not all of March.

We're still debating our escape out of here.... We will leave the night of March 1st and we will get to the twin cities. Gerard may want to visit cousins coming in from out of town, so instead of Tulsa on our first long drive day, we may only make it to Kansas City. The second night we will still shoot for Roswell, NM.... now that will be a long drive 12 hours.
